Translators help us decode and understand information from one language to another. Professional translators are especially important in today’s global economy. To show the audience what translators do and how their works impact our lives, this week’s edition of the Top Career 100 will feature the profession of translator.
Corinne McKay is a certified French to English translation by the American Translators Association. She has a Bachelor’s degree in French and English, and a Master’s Degree in French Literature. Based in Boulder, Colorado, she has been a full-time freelance translator since 2002.
Aside from being a translator, she is also involved in various fields such as development, corporate communications and books. She’s the author of How to Succeed as a Freelance Translator, a business how-to guide for freelance translators with over 10,000 copies in print. She’s also been teaching translating courses online.
