Phyllis has always loved the “story” that is in the word history. In pursuit of story in history, she studied and earned a Ph.D. in history from Columbia University. She spent over 25 years teaching college history, and one year working at an agency that supported small museums. Increasingly, she became interested in writing about the stories she found in history. First, she wrote historical articles for journals and magazines, and then she wrote six historical novel for middle grade readers. Just this August, her first historical novel for adults has been published.
